Step 1
Start with a measured baseline, not a borrowed timetable
Before choosing daily targets, identify the gap between your current recall and the official syllabus. A plan copied from a topper cannot account for your school hours, completed chapters, or error pattern.
Map every official unit
Mark each unit as not started, learning, practice-ready, or revision-ready. Use the latest NMC syllabus rather than an old coaching checklist, because retired topics waste time and missing units create silent gaps.
Take one diagnostic test
Use a mixed test to estimate accuracy, speed, and subject imbalance. The purpose is not to predict your final rank; it is to decide whether the next fortnight needs concept repair, question volume, or timed practice.
Set output targets
Plan chapters revised, questions reviewed, and tests analysed. Hours alone are a weak measure: six distracted hours can produce less learning than two focused cycles with retrieval and correction.
Step 2
Use four phases that overlap instead of waiting to “finish the syllabus”
Question practice and revision should begin while you are learning. The emphasis changes over time, but none of the core activities disappears completely.
Phase 1 — foundation
Build accurate notes from NCERT and trusted teaching material. After each concept block, close the book and reconstruct the idea, formula, diagram, or process before checking what you missed.
Phase 2 — chapter practice
Solve topic questions and previous-year questions while the chapter is fresh. Tag every miss as a concept gap, memory gap, calculation error, misread stem, or poor option elimination.
Phase 3 — mixed revision
Combine old and new chapters so recall becomes durable. Add subject tests and spaced reattempts of previous mistakes instead of repeatedly solving only comfortable chapters.
Phase 4 — exam simulation
Use full 180-question, 180-minute papers under controlled conditions. Review the attempt order, time lost, changed answers, unforced errors, and chapters that repeatedly break under pressure.
Step 3
A daily loop that works for school students and droppers
The amount of time can change; the learning sequence should stay stable. Protect sleep and use blocks that end with a visible result.
Learn and retrieve
Study one defined concept block, then recall it without the source. For Biology this can be a diagram or NCERT paragraph; for Physics and Physical Chemistry it can be a derivation, relationship, or worked example.
Practise and explain
Solve a focused set without interruption. For each wrong answer, explain why your choice failed and why the correct option fits. This makes review active rather than turning it into answer-key reading.
Revisit and plan
End with a short spaced review of older material and schedule the next exposure. A small daily backlog cleared consistently is safer than a large “revision day” that keeps moving.
Step 4
Run one honest review every week
Weekly review is where a timetable becomes adaptive. Keep the plan if the evidence says it works; change it when accuracy, coverage, or retention stalls.
Track accuracy by chapter
Separate first-attempt accuracy from reattempt accuracy. Improvement that appears only on memorised questions is not the same as transferable understanding.
Audit the error mix
If most losses are conceptual, slow down and repair foundations. If knowledge is present but marks are lost to reading, calculations, or time, use timed sets and a stricter checking routine.
Choose next week deliberately
Carry forward only the unfinished work that still matters. Rebuild overloaded plans instead of allowing an impossible backlog to grow and consume every revision block.
