Physical Chemistry: connect equations to chemical meaning
Quantitative practice should start with definitions, units, and conditions. An equation remembered without its assumptions is easy to misuse.
Build the relationship
Define every variable, state the applicable conditions, and understand how the quantities change together. Derive or reconstruct key forms when practical.
Practise calculations deliberately
Train mole conversions, logarithms, ratios, graphs, approximations, significant figures, and units. Keep arithmetic readable enough to diagnose the exact step that failed.
Mix conceptual and numerical items
A unit is not complete when only familiar calculations work. Include statement questions, graphs, limiting cases, and PYQs that require choosing between related formulas.

Organic Chemistry: learn a network, not a reaction list
Mechanistic reasoning and functional-group relationships reduce the memory burden. Build from electronic effects and general principles before adding transformations.
Secure the foundation
Revisit nomenclature, isomerism, electronic effects, intermediates, acidity, basicity, and reaction types. Weak general principles make every later chapter feel unrelated.
Map transformations
Organise reagents by what they change and the conditions they need. Practise moving between functional groups and explaining selectivity rather than memorising disconnected arrows.
Use exceptions carefully
Keep a short list of verified exceptions and confusing reagent pairs. Test them in questions and revisit the source instead of expanding an unmanageable reaction notebook.
Step 3
Inorganic Chemistry: make NCERT recall active
Repeated reading can feel fluent while producing weak recall. Convert tables, trends, colours, structures, processes, and exceptions into retrieval prompts.
Read in small units
Study one defined subsection, close the book, and reconstruct the relationships. Check exact wording where two options differ by a qualifier or exception.
Use comparison tables
Compare trends and compounds across the same properties. A compact table exposes patterns and exceptions more clearly than scattered highlights.
Schedule short repetitions
Use frequent, brief recall sessions rather than one large reread. Add statement-based questions and revisit the source paragraph for every uncertain answer.
Step 4
Integrate all three parts in tests and review
Your section score depends on switching cleanly between calculations, reaction reasoning, and factual recall. Mixed practice should become more common as the exam approaches.
Keep separate error categories
Label misses as concept, calculation, reaction logic, factual recall, exception, or reading. Each category needs a different repair task.
Use chapter tests, then mixed sections
Chapter tests build accuracy; mixed Chemistry sections train selection and switching. Add time pressure only after the basic reasoning is stable.
Maintain one revision queue
Combine saved errors, uncertain NCERT lines, reactions, and calculation traps into a scheduled queue. Reattempt with fresh variants before closing an item.
